Prostate cancer is among the most common cancers which are expected to occur in men in 2016. 44% of all cancer diagnoses in men are predicted to be due to prostate, lung, bronchus and colorectal cancers. In 2016 it was predicted that there would be 180,890 new prostate cancer diagnoses and 26,120 deaths due to prostate cancer. The alarming statistic that prostate cancer alone is responsible for 1 in 5 new cancer diagnoses in men illustrates its magnitude with respect to other malignancies. [1]
