Depression is a condition characterized by the presence of low mood or loss of interest, and is a common form of psychological distress observed in people with cancer. In general, the term depression can be used to indicate either depressive symptoms or diagnostic state of depressive disorder. Hereafter we used the term “depression” to refer to depressive symptoms, not limited to indicate a robustly diagnosed clinical state.
