Carcinogenesis: Integrative Cancer Research has concluded its 37th year in the service of the scientific community. The high quality of the reports and reviews published in the Journal is facilitated by the online teamwork of the Editors including Adriana Albini, Takashi Takahashi and Lars Zender. Lars assumed the responsibilities of Editor of the carcinogenesis section due to the untimely death of Alan Clarke. Alan made significant scientific contributions to stem cell and cancer research. Carcinogenesis: Integrative Cancer Research has commissioned a review on the general topic of Stem Cell Biology that will also recognize Alan’s impact of this field of science. He was also honored at the 4th European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute Symposium, September 6–7, 2016.
