 In present study, effects of cow urine ark on diabetic wound healing was studied.  Wistar Albino rats were used for this study due to their susceptibility for diabetes with streptozotocin and they are established model for diabetic wound healing studies.  Excision, incision and dead space wound model were selected for evaluation of wound healing activities.  Streptozotocin (50 mg / kg) was given i.p. to produce diabetes. Random blood sugar was measured using glucometer from drop of blood from tail vein.  Cow urine ark (5.5 ml / kg) was given orally in the morning.  Excision wounds were traced on transparent sheet as well as photographed and analyzed for wound contraction and re-epithelization with help of UTHSCA image analyzer software. Incision wounds were analyzed for wound breaking strength with help of continuous water flow technique of Lee. Dead space wounds were analyzed for dry granuloma weight, hydroxyproline content and histopathological changes.  Cow urine ark significantly improved the collagen content and granulation tissue formation in diabetic wounds which can be useful in accelerating wound healing in diabetic patients. Clinical implementation would require clinical trials.
