[Correspondence] Whole brain radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer

We disagree with the conclusion that whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) has little additional clinical benefit for patients with non-small cell lung cancer with brain metastases, as reported by Paula Mulvenna and colleagues in the QUARTZ trial.1 Our objection is not only attributed to their study failing to reach the predesigned non-inferiority margin, but more importantly, the difference between two groups being partly erased in at least two aspects of design and data analysis.
