[Correspondence] Sexual abuse and injury during incarceration reveal the need for re-entry trauma screening

About 12 million incarcerations occur per year in the USA.1 Many forms of trauma occur during incarceration, with a crucial but hidden impact on health after release. We report data for two forms of trauma during incarceration, sexual abuse, and violent injury, and postulate a role for trauma screening post incarceration.
